An underwater complex was once used as an aquarium, which housed sharks and dolphins.[18] A facility called the Hydra, a scientific research station located on a small island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, is the subject of the present day film. It is said to be located in the same area as the fictional Dharma Initiative station. The facility was built in the late 20th century to study the effects of living without sunlight. The idea was first suggested by Dr. Daniel Faraday (William Fichtner), who was acting as the unofficial leader of the scientific team. Faraday theorized that the inhabitants of the island would suffer brain damage within ten years due to the lack of sunlight. The research team was led by Dr. Roger Corwin (Jeff Fahey). The team's primary purpose was to study the effects of living without sunlight, but their research also allowed them to study marine biology. The team comprised scientists, divers, and a professional hunter named John Locke (Terry O'Quinn), who was instructed to kill the island's many creatures and bring their heads back to the camp for examination.[19] Locke shoots the first of the Sea Horses that followed him onto the island, but he found himself the only survivor.[20]

I am rating this movie a one out of ten. And I hope I never have to see another CGI monster movie ever again. I'll leave you with a trailer for the movie, below. This one is extremely low budget and looks like it could have been made in 1997 or 1998.
The nature of its diet is also unknown. It is known that the hydra is omnivorous, eating anything it can bite. The hydra does not appear to exhibit any particular loyalty to any particular food. Only in a few cases can it be said that the hydra prefers a particular type of food.
The American government has created several containment facilities for the hydra in the United States, Hawaii, and Louisiana. Each one is equipped with a monitoring system and sensors which can detect any change in the hydra's behavior.
The food intake for the hydra is said to be about one thousand calories per day. It has been known to eat a human body in ten days. The hydra can be very ferocious when hungry, and will eat anything it can get its jaws around. It can run, swim, climb and jump. 827ec27edc
