How to Solve the Dummy Video Filter Problem in EDIUS
Video clips can be used in many different ways in a NLE: they can be used as dummy clips, they can be set as Composites, they can be used in a timeline, and they can be used as part of a comp. In this example, Ive used a long, white, animated, moving line to add a jitter effect to a clip that has to do with a particular profession.

This effect is fairly simple. Ive used Colorista to grade the footage to change highlights, shadows and apply a slight VFX to enhance the skin complexion. The clip was overlaid using a Keying effect, and I've then used a Simple Motion and Reduce Motion filter to desaturate the background.

This example combines a different tool from the list above, namely a lot of tweaking to relight an image. Ive used Colorista to grade the image and enhance certain masked areas. For example, to change the grade on her face, back and the background area to the right. Lastly, Ive added film grain using the Magic Bullet Looks MisFire filter.
The final stop is a slight color shift, which looks pretty good when applied to the first half of the clip. The Color Corrector on V1 is way too warm here, but once Ive applied the Glow filter to V2, we are in good shape.
